I could move into the D Street Prepared Class and go with all 18's and A3S05 Hoosiers. This would obviously require me buying more wheels as well. Right now I have PS2's that are about 1/2 worn or 5/32 inch tread. They are getting stickier all the time, but R compounds would knock be down another 2 seconds per lap.
Thanks,

I run road courses and not set-up for solo, but I can give you my best guestimate for that type of set-up. As you know, you are really limited with solo rules. The PS Cups are good once they reach temperature, which for me on a 2.5 mile road course is about two laps. Before they heat, they are a bit slippery, but stand-up well on a 100 mile event.
The Hoosiers are much quicker to heat and stickier right out of the gate, which may be an advantage for solo, since you guys don't have the luxury of many laps to bring the tires to temp. But, they are pretty much useless after a 100 mile road race.
Either tire should last you an entire solo season.
The big question is do you want to change things that will take you out of DS and put you against faster cars in CS ? That really is only a decision you can make...
I don't know where you are running solo, but maybe if you try the PS Cups in the current OEM wheel configuration and before each run you take the car to the back parking lot and heat the hell out of the tires for a few minutes before your event, you should see some good results.
also, might be a good "cheap" helper (without breaking the solo rules for DS) to do the same camber / caster / toe set-up that I have on my car. You can find the specs. in a post I made a few months ago.
Without blasting the Crossfire too much, the only saving grace to this under powered beast is that with $2,500 in suspension modifications you can stay competitive on solo and road courses with vehicles that have up-to 75 HP more +/-. But then you've just gone into DS Modified.
Good luck on your competitions, keep us posted on your progress.
