i agree. the $2500 lowered your lease price considerably. based on the lease amount, the cost capitalization on your car was probably only $30K, and maybe even less. you'll pay a little over $14K during your lease if you turn it in (including the $300 disposal fee, not including taxes, etc). the $17K payoff suggests approximately a 55% residual value.
the $2500 rebate ended yesterday. the chrysler website still has the lease deal listed but states that it is good only through march 1, 2004. the rebate on a purchase has disappeared from the carmax site (updated daily) and the prices went up accordingly. i can't imagine that the rebates won't come back unless sales go up significantly. i guess the best scenario (for current crossfire owners) is for sales to strengthen enough in the spring so as to not make additional incentives necessary, but at the same time not convince chrysler that they need to increase production.
