My father-in-law has a 2006 White Crossfire Roadster... so he says.
So, over the holidays I was talking with my father-in-law and he mentioned he was going to sell his Crossfire. I said well you know your daughter loves that car and there is some odd connection she has had to it ever since her mother passed away. So before you sell it let me know and if I have the cash I will just buy it for her. Thats when the conversation became interesting (unbeknownst to me at the time).
I never really had any interest in the Crossfire, I love Mopars... from the 60-70's but a but a mid auts, girly chrysler, no thanks... that is until I drove it, holy hell that thing is a blast to drive!!!
Back to the conversation with my F-I-L. He told me hes been receiving hand written letters from a couple dealers that know he has it, each one offering him between $19k - $21K for it, sight unseen. I asked why (I figured it to be worth 12-15k only because I know how meticulous he is and it still looks showroom new). He said: "No idea, maybe because its rare color combination, I've never seen another one like it. Also because it's some sort of Mercedes drivetrain package? I really dont know."
This is what I know to be true:
- Roadster
- White
- White leather interior
- Supercharger
- No SRT6 badging
What he told me:
- 2006 (he doesn't forget much)
- "Mercedes package" (can only assume hes referring to the AMG that the SRT6 is based off of)
- He is the second owner, purchased from a dealer in 09 (I think)
That said,
- I can not find any 2006 Crossfires in white, roadster or coupe.
- I guess he could be wrong and its a 2005... but aren't all the Supercharged ones in 05 badged with SRT6?
- I don't see any SRT6 without badging
Anyone have any idea what this thing could be?
Thanks for any input, I don't really want to pay $19K for this thing but if its some sort of rare edition of very few ever made... then maybe. Only downside would be my wife will never let me sell it and she will want it for her daily driver.
