Default Re: Help

I have had good luck at the Mazda dealership when we had the Mazda. Family owned and family ran. I have been lied to flat out by the Chrysler dealership. The problem they have is I know the owner. So, when this happens, I just look at them and say, well, I will ask Pete if that is necessary. Pete is in his 70's, German, and for some reason we have always had a great relationship when it came to car deals. He drives a Mercedes even though he could drive anything on his 5 Star lot. I owned jeeps for years. Lots of them, mostly wranglers a few Cherokees. But you really need a good relationship with the service writer or the shop mgr or you are going to get hosed. Once they know I am friends with Pete, I don't have a problem. He runs his dealership with an iron fist literally. I once witnessed him fire the whole showroom of salesmen. All but one. I sold cars for him part time for a couple of months until he hired all new people. I like him, but I would never work for him full time....lol Dealerships can be fine if you take the time to get to know the people who own it, and run it... Make a relationship with them and they will take care of you. I still drop by and visit with Pete from time to time. But I never let them touch my cars. Not even an oil change. The Mazda dealer, yes... Never had a problem there. They let you watch from a window view waiting area.
