Default Re: Group buy / crossfire custom stainless steel wire mesh grilles

I got a response from Peter about the import fee and administrative charge that was "delay billed" to our customers in the USA. Here is what he said . . .

Hi Bob.
We have spoken to our Fedex Representative in the UK who has confirmed the following :
*All goods from Europe ( Including UK ) are subject to Tariff set by the US government.
This calculated by the value of the goods.
*In regards to any claim for Insurance,Zunsport can only claim for the value of goods shown for lost or damaged goods.
Bob,the only way i see reducing this Tariff is for Zunsport to show a reduced price which
leaves us vulnerable for any insurance claim.
What are your thoughts ?

Best Regards

I thanked Peter for his research and told him there was no better way to handle our transactions. We each paid a (small) tariff and administrative fee based upon the $200.00 declared value of each shipment. As you may know one of our USA purchasers had his package go "missing". Accordingly FedEx paid off based on the $200.00 package value we had declared and Zunsport was able to send him a duplicate shipment. If we had not declared a $200.00 package value that member would have been SOL. I guess we can thank our own government for having us incur those fees (Our government at work) . . .
