Group buy / crossfire custom stainless steel wire mesh grilles
Thanks John...I will stop in and see as soon as spring arrives.....lol
UPDATE . . . Zunsport has asked me to be their exclusive USA representative for the Crossfire stainless steel wire mesh grilles. Accordingly, I just put up two E-Bay listings . . . One for the three piece grille set and another for the upper grille only. The E-Bay prices are $300 and $225 respectively.
I can make these grilles available to forum members at a $270.00 and $200.00 respectively IF YOU E-MAIL ME DIRECTLY TO PLACE YOUR ORDER (saving me the E-Bay fees). I just revised the pricing shown in an earlier post on this thread . . .
THIS OFFERING TO FORUM MEMBERS IS AN EXTENSION OF THE ORIGINAL GROUP BUY AND IS NOT TO BE CONSIDERED A NEW SALES SOLICITATION.
My direct e-mail address is RedDogNumber1@aol.com

Were you able to get the FedX "additional taxes & fees" straightened out ? Are they really due for the first shipment.
I suspect part of the problem was the value Zunsport put on the customs document and the fact that the FedX service fee more than doubled the separate bill they sent.

Seems that an extension should be the same price.. but what do I know..
You name a zebra Secretariat it still doesn't make it a race horse..
Just saying others play by the rules and I don't see an exemption because you call for it...

I can think of a couple of threads in the coupe and SRT forums that need to be moved as well.
Coupe
SRT6
Do we have different rules for different people or is my perception of cronyism different from other people?

I let Andrew move those.
I got a response from Peter about the import fee and administrative charge that was "delay billed" to our customers in the USA. Here is what he said . . .
Hi Bob.
We have spoken to our Fedex Representative in the UK who has confirmed the following :
*All goods from Europe ( Including UK ) are subject to Tariff set by the US government.
This calculated by the value of the goods.
*In regards to any claim for Insurance,Zunsport can only claim for the value of goods shown for lost or damaged goods.
Bob,the only way i see reducing this Tariff is for Zunsport to show a reduced price which
leaves us vulnerable for any insurance claim.
What are your thoughts ?
Best Regards
Peter Langston
Zunsport
I thanked Peter for his research and told him there was no better way to handle our transactions. We each paid a (small) tariff and administrative fee based upon the $200.00 declared value of each shipment. As you may know one of our USA purchasers had his package go "missing". Accordingly FedEx paid off based on the $200.00 package value we had declared and Zunsport was able to send him a duplicate shipment. If we had not declared a $200.00 package value that member would have been SOL. I guess we can thank our own government for having us incur those fees (Our government at work) . . .

OK I understand all of that but the declared value on my FedEx form for the upper grille only was $246 not $200. (suspect they entered 150 pounds).
The really annoying part was that FedEx charged more for their "advancement fee" than the tax. I would have been happy to pay the six bucks up front but is now $12.65 plus a stamp.
ps this has nothing to do with Insured Value which can include shipping, handling, and tax

I don't know how your package could have been different than every other one. My "extra" billing from FedEx was $8.18. I don't know how much effort you want to expend to maybe be reimbursed for about $4.00 but if you want to pursue it I will assist you. Can you get me a copy of your shipping label? You can scan it and e-mail it to me at RedDogNumber1@aol.com OR you can FAX it to me at (305) 367-5027.

I ordered mine Monday of this week!
Got it today at 10:30am
Boxed very well and I'm excited about getting them installed
Twenty minute job took me longer, read instructions, WEAR GLOVES!
Love it!
