Full disclosure, not entirely in the spirit of the thread, but kinda.
Personally, I'd vote for the OM642 (though I believe Padgett was implying the new VM diesel in his post).
At around 300/470 in my GC, and still netting 19/25 mpg with the turbo already there, I would love to see this kinda swap.
Kinda stirring the pot, but as I typed this out, the more I like the idea.
