The Mann #1033 is a paper filter.

I do not use paper filters and I threw away two of them that I got with my cars. I took out a paper filter from my SRT when I changed the oil and it had collapsed, but it was put in by a Jiffy Lube shop when the oil was changed by the previous owner.
But paper filters were used for the past 100 years I guess, the good ones are OK but only for a couple of thousand miles. The fleece filter was put in to last for the extended oil changes time period.
Dave, I'm sorry, but it seemed to me you were advocating the use of paper filters. My mistake?

And, yup, I posted the wrong filter! Just a bad night, all-around. Took a tumble down a flight of stairs this morning. I should have gone to bed earlier and saved myself the foot-in-post! Before the pain killers kicked in.
