And thanks for the support. I just had to put new tires, brakes, wipers, and get the oil changed. When I got the tires done, I also found out that the alignment is off, so that will cost me another $70 to get that fixed. Oh the joys of car maintenance.
Unscrew the filter and if it is soaking with oil leave it loose in the hole for an hour to drain back into the engine. No need to add more oil, the amount is hardly anything when it is drained back and it's really OK even if it's still dripping with oil.
The oil filter hole (sans filter naturally) is the easiest place to refill the oil, it acts as a natural funnel that will not move if you nudge it.
