Haltech makes very for serious standalone's, however if you look at their prices, they better lol. Also bosch makes standalones. They offer features like cruise control, launch control, etc etc... You just have to pay extra.
It is definitely a standalone ECU. The big problem is that the way our ECU is built is very complex and to replace the complete ECU with ABS and all the electronics would be very time consuming and difficult. The ECU is actually very good on taking care of the other things, that is why it would be enough to put it in parallel with the OEM ECU and only let it take care of the fueling, timing, injector duty cycle.
