I've been down a long and winding road. I went back to the stock heat exchanger and reservoir for racing points reasons. The result was spraying the engine compartment and knowing I had to change the leaking intercooler. Done. Also the stock heat exchanger IS too small for "all the bolt ons". I have an E55AMG heat exchanger at this time for engine coolant temperature reasons. The super sized H/E elevates the EGT's about 3º. Not much but when your too hot. Well, out it came. What I like about the interconnected system is it's pressurized. It doesn't seem to affect my I/C coolant temperatures. With the separated circuits and connected circuits the maximum IAT temperatures on the road course are the same as far as I can tell. Since they reach 180º and max timing is pulled at around 140º, or so I've read, no way I can keep them that low. So no gain for me with a super sized cooler. I'm not done messing around with it though.
