Default Re: Mobil 1 oil filters

What is so hard about finding the filters for these cars?

(I should probably remember that I live in a major metro area with about a zillion Mercedes on the road...)

The Purolator L25277 is a repacked MANN Fleece Filter and sells for around $14 and I get them at Advance Auto. Where is the USA can you not go to Advance Auto? (I'm really asking, maybe they are not really nationwide.)

If you don't give a damn about your engine, you can use their L25276 - it's a trashy paper filter, not sure who the hell makes it, but you save almost $2. Cheap is always better, right? While you are at it, make sure you get 8 quarts of generic 10W30 oil at the gas station, you will save about $40 right there.

But seriously, folks: IF you put a pressure gauge on your car, you won't be putting any paper filters in there: 0W40 in a cold engine will flow, at idle, at over 90 pounds!
