Anyways if you read the thread you'll find some info about custom headers being made. Maybe something worth looking into as the cost he has listed for them is under $1,200.

HDDP over at the other forums they had one member who had downpipes made for his custom headers... but to keep costs down he made a deal with the shop (germany) to retain the plans (pattern) of the pipes so that other members can purchase the down pipes... in the end the downpipes were free as he became sponsored by the shop... maybe you can pitch this idea to them as well???
