With the 6 speed I owned you could (at a stop) put in the clutch & floor the gas pedal and the RPMs would automatically stay at 4200......till you dropped the clutch. @2600-2700 before the torque overcomes the rear brakes on mine.
If you are into drag racing, you probably need bigger rear brakes.
( or maybe put it in neutral, floor it and jam it in 'D' - never tried that, I'm a wimp )
