Default NA Auto 0-60 & 1/4 Time?

Has anyone ever seen a magazine test 0-60 & 1/4 mile instrumented numbers for a NA automatic.......I've only seen 6 spds tested + subjective comments by magazines regarding the automatic?

~6.5 seconds is a pretty close estimate. The 6-speed might be marginally quicker (by a tenth) but the auto is no slouch, and the taller first gear means you get to wring it out a bit more.

I never went faster than 14.9 in the 1/4-mile with my old Limited... So, the Auto is pretty close to that, maybe ~2 tenths slower.

Here's a R&T Data Panel:

So I gotta ask... Who gave R&T the tester unit... Was it Rudy or Josh??

I bought an 07 stick & a 08 auto new for $40 K total......put 89,000 on the stick ......traded it in last year......still have the 08 automatic. I'd say the stick was more fun.......but really like the auto.

Brother in law stopped by last night.....bought a Fiat Abarth 5 speed.....lot's of fun.....but.....if I get hit by a bus I'd much rather be in my Crossfire.

Last year bluecoupe brought his stock Auto NA to the ¼ mile and he ran 15 flat every time if I recall... Send him a PM or maybe he will read this thread, I bet he still has the time slips! I am pretty sure he beat a modded srt6 also that night on one run...

I think that same SRT6 also beat a highly modded V8 Crossfire the same night........I know he still has the timeslips.

If the back wheels are spinning.....you know your not winning !!

The NA times were a very consistent 15.0 +/-

I've seen test where the NAauto was 6.3 . That was the coupe. The roadsters was 7.0. That was stock. A modded NA (various mods will affect times) can certainly do a lot bet. I've done eurocharge tune and k& n highflow and its definitely quicker. Add in bigger throttle and CAI and your car is pretty darn quick even though its not an SRT6........

With the 6 speed I owned you could (at a stop) put in the clutch & floor the gas pedal and the RPMs would automatically stay at 4200......till you dropped the clutch. I've never tried any such thing with the automatic (2008)......if you put your left foot on the brake ......how high can you take the RPMs on the automatic before launch?

@2600-2700 before the torque overcomes the rear brakes on mine.
If you are into drag racing, you probably need bigger rear brakes.
( or maybe put it in neutral, floor it and jam it in 'D' - never tried that, I'm a wimp )
