OK guys, I know there has been a ton of discussion about putting wider wheels on the Crossfire’s and I think I’ve read to many discussions because I’m confused. There are discussions about needing spacer’s and being lowered and not lowered and how some tires are actually bigger than others on and on. If I invest in tires I want to be as sure as possible they will fit so this is what I would like to do.
I have a 2005 SRT6 Roadster with stock rims, not lowered, no spacers. I like the Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole position tire and I would like to put 285/35/19 in the rear and 235/40 /18 in the front. From what I’ve read I believe this is a safe bet but is it? Are the Bridgestone’s a fatter tire than others and might it rub on the suspension or when the front tires turn? Would I need a spacer? Could I go wider in front and should I. How will larger tires affect the handling?
