I do want to point out, the rubbing only occurred when cornering very hard at about 45 through a dip, which is in a shortcut on the way home that I basically have to jam across a very busy street to even have a chance at making across.
I did not have it occur any other time, not even on 2 long distance trips with a ton of luggage in the back.
I am lowered about 1.5" via a cut coil.
I should also point out that i noticed the rubbing before I bought and installed MikeR's camber arms. I never noticed it after that, so it could have been entirely due to being lowered and the extra camber, vs extra tire width.
Either way, it was just a quick rub on the inner wheel well that cause no damage and wasn't any concern of mine. I went with 275's purely on price, being $35 a tire cheaper than the 285's from my source.
I think you will be very happy insisting on the 285/35's
