P0141 and P0161 Codes
I've had my Crossfire for about a year now and have always had a CEL for both rear O2 sensors - there were a lot of codes like no activity, high voltage, low voltage, etc.... Before I put it back on the road this year, I decided to fix it. After getting under there, I saw that the previous owner had used the AutoZone universal O2's and the connectors look like they were from something he had lying around - they were spliced in on both sides of the connector.
So after much searching, I got the OEM connectors from a Mercedes dealership and bought OEM style AC Delco O2 sensors. I neatly spliced them back into the engine harness, using the wiring diagram/color codes from the service manual.
Now I have only the 0141 and 0161 codes - heater circuit malfunction on both rear sensors. It seems odd to me that it's both and the likelihood of getting two new sensors with bad heater elements seems slim. I've checked and have 12.9-13V to the O2 sensor plugs, but haven't tested them under load because I don't have the tools to do so where I am now.
Is there anything else I should be looking for or common problems with this?
