And with that comes a whole bunch of other issues, so i would really appreciate any help and suggestions i can get! I just got me a Garrett Turbo from my boss (awesome)
i don't have all the specs on it but he said it's a GT35R. On the cast EC-1 A/R .70, it's a good size but is it too big? I plan on a full rebuild of the engine before the turbo install. Next would be the ECU can anyone recommend a piggy back system? I'm looking at the PowerMod Interceptor. I'd like to make at least 400HP. Thank you!
The gt35 is a awesome fast spool ball bearing turbo. There has been a front mounted single and a front mount twin turbo setup (if you want reference for placement and piping).
On the motor rebuild. We have forged crank and rods. But hypereutecnic pistons that is the weak link. The alusil coating on the cylinders is one of the best and one of the worst things about our engines.
RODS-From what I do I have found out about our rods they are good for around 110 horsepower per rod.(if anyone knows different plz let me know).
Pistons- NOBODY makes options for us. Unless custom made. I finally found a a piston and rod to get some accurate measurements off of (thanks to a dedicated forum member) I should have it next week.
TUNING- THE HARDEST PART. If you find a way to tune a original N/A car to accept turbos/boost and still retain all of benefits that we have like the dual spark, you will be envy of MANY and open the door for lots more options. And possible raise the price of our cars. And make you lots of money.
Euro charged is the best place for tuning so far
6SPD- it is good for 300-400 HP I can't remember any closer number
I would love to have a twin gt15 or gt20 setup.
has anyone tried or attempted a custom cams??
