This! I had a Turbo Thunderbird in 1984 that kept eating clutch cables. Turns out the first tech put on the wrong mounting parts and no subsequent tech noticed - and Ford kept blaming ME after at least eight reruns of the same problem in a single year. I have not bought and will not buy a Ford ever again unless I get a personal apology from a Ford family member (I'm not holding my breath :-).
I'm always dumbfounded by people's (in a general sense) inability to think long-term, about anything. Sure they can screw some guy out of a couple grand this month and make some quick cash. At the expense of have him bad mouth their business to the world for the next 20 years. Or they can build a lasting relationship with large numbers of customers by providing excellent service to a community over years or decades by providing fair prices *and still making a substantial profit on many more sales than they would have made otherwise*. It just doesn't make sense to me...
