Guy gets hosed when his car will not start.
This thread is from the Chrysler forum and it reads like a comic strip.
He gets three new starters, a new flywheel and then balks at paying $2,000 for a BCM. Tow charges are probably going to bankrupt him.
One "mechanic" tells him they will not be able to diagnose the problem because it will not start. OK guys if your car will not start you may just as well take it to the scrap yard. LOL

LOL well damn, poor guy doesn't seem to understand the concept of "USE THE INTERNET TO RESEARCH THE SYMPTOMS". Damn people can be quite dumb it seems.

I'm always dumbfounded by people's (in a general sense) inability to think long-term, about anything. Sure they can screw some guy out of a couple grand this month and make some quick cash. At the expense of have him bad mouth their business to the world for the next 20 years. Or they can build a lasting relationship with large numbers of customers by providing excellent service to a community over years or decades by providing fair prices *and still making a substantial profit on many more sales than they would have made otherwise*. It just doesn't make sense to me...

So true! It hurts just to watch it happen.. LOL
Well, in most cases, it is the mechanic who gets in over his head, because he is looking at symptoms of a normal car....not a ******* car. If it were pure MB or pure Chrysler, life would have been good...but no, lets compound the problems. So, mechanic throws parts at it, and gets no where, but still bills out the parts and the labor. Meanwhile, the car owner has no clue, so he keeps paying hoping to get his sporty car back.... This is a car all should research the hell out of before buying, and reading every damn thread on here at least a dozen times to make it stick so when the problem arises, he can help the mechanic out....

The result is employees who couldn't care less about the job or their employer. Unfortunately the better employers suffer when they hire someone who cares less about anything and with todays laws have a hard time firing them when they have been good boys during the probationary period. So we all suffer, lifes a beach at times.
This! I had a Turbo Thunderbird in 1984 that kept eating clutch cables. Turns out the first tech put on the wrong mounting parts and no subsequent tech noticed - and Ford kept blaming ME after at least eight reruns of the same problem in a single year. I have not bought and will not buy a Ford ever again unless I get a personal apology from a Ford family member (I'm not holding my breath :-).

THIS WEEK.......I have a company owned truck. 2012 Ford E250 with 102k kms or 63k miles. Took it in to my local ford dealer that I have been using for the last 2 years for an oil change and A/C not blowing cold.
Told me I needed upper and lower ball joints on left side and A/C Receiver Dryer. All out of warranty. Told me the lower ball joint was ready to fall off and upper is halfway there. I questioned them about how a 2 year old truck could need these even with the high HIGHWAY use miles they said very common with these trucks. I said go ahead with the lower only, leave the upper as is and do nothing on the A/C which they quoted at $600 for a/c only. When i picked it up they had done both upper and lower B joints which I told them then they did it for free cause I told them not to do the upper.
Took it to an independant shop for the A/C repair and they said it was clearly a refridgerant leak at the O ring near the dryer. Out the door for $220 inluding evac, recharge, o ring, labour and tax.
Thiefs.......now I wonder if both B joints were probably fine too.
Called the dealer Service Manager and told them I will never be back.

Almost every time my wife gets her oil changed they tell her either ball joint bad, wheel bearing, tie rod etc. She tells them NO OIL CHANGE ONLY she has a shop she trusts more to work on her car. After oil change she always takes it straight to our trusted shop he looks at what dealership said was bad. And our mechanic just laughs and says there is nothing wrong. Then the next oil change she asks the dealership to check the part they said was bad and they come back and say "looks good, but XXX XXX other part is going out now" and she goes back to our trusted shop and the circle keeps going.
STEALERSHIPS SUCKS

If I have a shop change a part on my vehicle I tell them the part/s taken out to be put in back of vehicle / passenger floor board
