Default Re: SRT-6 Aftermarket Heat Exchanger (Intercooler)

More often than not; you get what you pay for. The cheaper units usually don't flow or dissipate heat as well. I do understand it's a little pricey, but here are a few reasons why some of us went w/ the Eurocharged HE: "Lifetime warranty, It is manufactured by C.&R. racing exclusively for E.C., Made in the U.S.A., Guaranteed to never leak, crack, or leave you stranded. Some of the NASCAR teams choose C.&R. as their cooling provider." The Supercooler is awesome, but I chose to not cover the entire radiator like the Supercooler does.

Another option; Have you considered looking for a used E55 HE off the MBworld.org forum? A few of the guys there that go w/ the EC HE are often looking to get rid of their original. That is what a couple of us here have done. Before I got a great deal on my EC HE, it is what I did to replace the OEM SRT6 HE. It is wider & thicker than our OEM(in other words,an upgrade). IIRC, I got mine from a MBworld.org forum member for $85.shipped. It is not a direct fit(none will be), and needs a little finagleing, but works great.
