I was just thinking yesterday how income level can greatly skew ones perception of value as can parenthood and having a house burn down and illness and winning the lottery.....

A lesson I learned long ago was that with special interest cars that are no longer in production it is best to buy the lowest mileage best condition one you can find (almost) regardless of price and then quit looking at the prices for a long while.

Somewhat akin to finding the best bride and behaving properly afterwards.
