I'm now thinking that "we" should fabricate a fender or shield or shroud piece to protect against collateral damage if / when a pulley grenades. I pulled this image off the internet to present a visual image of what I'm thinking about but really it can be just a simple fender piece that mounts above the pulley. How about some of you fabrications guys chiming in with some thoughts . . .

I think you are on the right track. My only concern about the cover like the one in your picture is that the broken metal parts may potentially damage the SC shaft. (Pin ball comes to mind) I think a shield attached to the supercharger where the lifting bracket goes may be better. Let the broken pieces fall to the bottom.
