looks wise i think the xfire looks better no pop up wing one the mitsu. the convertable part is pretty cool. the eclipse looks much better with the top down. the xfire came with cool accesories like the locking gas tank and intermittent wipers, the eclipse came with hids, bluetooth, back up cam and a stock rocksford fosgate system 650 watts with a 8" sub built into the back seat both had heated seats.
quality mitsubishi will never be the same as awell pretty much mercedes. the tranny is a lil more rough
having mivec kick in around 4200 rpm is nice. the door handles on the inside of the eclipse are a lil weak and tend to break. the blue cluster is sweet
i am beating more cars with the new car but it did start with 50 more hp plus ive done a lil more to it then i got to with my xfire.
they are both fun cars i did see less xfires around then eclipses some parts have burnt orange ones out the ying yang.
When I bought our 2007 Machine Gray XFire Coupe back in OCT/2008, I found the car at a Mitsubishi dealer in KCMO. XFire had only 1500 miles on the ODO and the original owner traded it for a new Mitsubishi Spyder after only 6 months of ownership. Feedback I got from dealer was the original owner didn't like the stiff ride from a 2-seat sports car! His loss; my gain!
