After driving it to the stealership the key fob will work intermittently, but it still a no go for the key itself to work. It will turn , but the lock will not open. The lock will open using the power lock/unlock button in the car. Previously I had intermittent problems with the hatch not opening. I did not get it "fixed" because the dealership said it was not covered under my warranty, but I personally think it's not the lock, but something to do with the the electronics etc. It has pretty much worked since last time I had it at the dealership and now will not open after the Central Locking Pump issue.

Under the rear right near the rear axles, there are two rubber plugs in the cavity below the rear where the jack is located. Slice the rubber plug on the right side (where nothing is stored in the rear hatch) and see if water runs out of the well. The central locking module is located in there, and water entering this well will cause all sorts of electrical problems. If you just slice it and push open the slice, any water will run out. If there is water in there you need to remove all the inside lower rear hatch trim to get the Styrofoam out to get to the module. You'll have to totally dry out the unit (if you got to it before any corrosion occurred) to see if this will fix your problem. Good luck!
