HELP! Door locks won't open.
I came back to my car(SRT6) after working out at the gym and the door looks wiould not open either manually or through key fob. The only thing I can think of is that we had torrential rains over night. I started to pull in to a parking lot and then backed up because the water level was too high. I'm wondering if it's possible that some wires or parts got wet when the front of the car started to get in to larger stream of water. I might have gone in to the beginning of the front tires. I have read in previous posts that the Central Locking Pump/Security System Module could be one of the issues. I will let the car sit for a few hours to let it dry out and then try it again. If that doesn't work how would I get the car towed? Does anybody have any other ideas? Thanks.
The central locking system pump is in the passenger side rear trunkwell, hidden by the molded foam block under the trunk mat. On SRTs the wing and the rectangular body panel the wing is bolted to can both leak water, and it flows behind interior panels down to the trunkwell. There is no drain, so the water level will rise to the point of flooding the components in the box located there.
If this is your problem, the heavy rain and high water probably was just the final cause.
Here is a link to the troubles we had a few years back. Skip the text and look at the pictures.

The water gets into the car on the Limiteds too, not just the SRTs.
Ahh yes, the obvious. Your key will open the door, but water in your trunk is the most likely problem.
Thanks for the replies. The trunk looked pretty dry, but I can't open it now to look at it. I used a locksmith to open the car. Everything works ok. The car starts and all systems appear to be working. I drove it to the stealership last night. After driving it to the stealership the key fob will work intermittently, but it still a no go for the key itself to work. It will turn , but the lock will not open. The lock will open using the power lock/unlock button in the car. Previously I had intermittent problems with the hatch not opening. I did not get it "fixed" because the dealership said it was not covered under my warranty, but I personally think it's not the lock, but something to do with the the electronics etc. It has pretty much worked since last time I had it at the dealership and now will not open after the Central Locking Pump issue.

Is it possible that the key is not the original key? Others have had the same problem of the key not turning, but if the battery is disconnected or the battery is flat then the key should open the door, Germans do not make that stupid kind of mistake. Try the key in the glove box if it does not work you have your answer.
The ignition cylinder may have been changed due to the"Sticky Ignition Problem" and the other cylinders not changed. My key opens the door with the battery disconnected, it is a different feel than when the battery is connected as it feels more mechanical rather than power assisted, the key has to be turned more as well.
