Read the owners manual carefully and perform the operations exactly as it says and you might be surprised. I was able to program mine successfully, after installing a new opener with rolling codes. The key, as I recall, after pressing the learn button on the opener was that I had to press the button in the car two or three times. I think that it depends on the number of codes the opener uses. The other thing is you only have 30 seconds after pressing the learn button to be back in the car and pressing the button there. Be patient, it does work.
