Will the Bosch 003 153 27 28 part work on a 2004?

I am new to the forum and just purchased a 2004 CF with 15000 miles on it. So far it died once at the car wash, but started right back up and then yesterday on an exit ramp it died and would not start for about an hour. I am really scared to drive it now for fear that it will get me stranded somewhere. I have called the dealership and one wanted $450 to change this, I saw the write up on how to change it yourself and will definitley do that. Just want to make sure it is a long term fix.

Thanks
Eagle - the number you have here is the Mercedes part number for the correct Bosch part - See post 133 for the latest part numbers as found by Onehundred80

I am having the crankshaft sensor replaced this week and was curious.....after replacing this part, has everyone had success with the problem? I'm a little skittish, after stalling on a highway, in major traffic.

Thanks for the assist. This forum has helped me a lot.
Keri - make sure you use a Bosch part and you should have good results. So far, the only people that have NOT had success are those that used an NON-Bosch part.

Good luck to you both!!
