Default Scatter-shield for Supercharger Pulley

The SRT-6 / SLK32 / C32 Supercharger Pulley Scattershields are likely to be available by next week.

I just made something I wanted/needed on my car and am making it available to anyone else who wants one as well. I put a bit of thought into the design in an effort to make it both functional and attractive while making it available at a price that I would gladly pay if someone else had made it rather than I.

Driven by my desire to protect my (2) SLK32s (I had a SC pulley let go on my SL55 and other members here have had the SC pulley come apart on their SRT-6, SLK32 and C32 cars), I designed a simple scattershield with the intention of protecting the Hood, Oil Cooler and other surrounding components in the event of an SC pulley failure. These failures have been punctuated by rivets and "dog bones" breaking or by the pressure plate surface itself flying apart (the latter was one of the failure modes discussed in some detail after it happened to two members ... starting around post 316 in that thread https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...le-now-16.html ). Shortly after that in the same thread, there was some interest in my making extras of the scattershield and making them available to other members.

I made the prototypes by hand from aluminum, but in the interest of lower price and best quality, I had a shop that does a lot of work for me do the final version in Stainless .... and I got the first sample today. (PICS BELOW)

I did a test fit, and it is good to go. The install is easy (remove 2 screws holding air injection pipe and relax belt. Scattershield slips into place then is secured by 2 bolts). I do not run with the engine cover normally (as I like to do a regular visual inspection of the SC pulley), but I tested the final version of the scattershield with the SLK32 front engine cover in place and it fits fine.

Anyway, it made sense to move this "list" of those who want to get this piece at the special "IPO" price of $85 each (including hardware) to it's own thread rather than at the end of a very long thread about the karmen pulley.

So here is the deal....

For anyone who is willing to semi-commit to getting one now. The extra special buddy/initial offering price is $85 (including hardware). Shipping in the US (2 day priority) is $12 and will be added as well.

Anyone who wants to order more than one will get the shipping for FREE. There is no commitment required, just say you want one and I will add you to the list. The parts should be done in less than 10 days and then they will be hand inspected and test fit by me before I ship.

When I get the parts, I will let everyone know and the LIST will close.
.... and then those on the list are welcome to pay or back out (with no hard feelings) anyone who didn't get on the list will pay a little more.

To be clear ..... this scatter-shield will work on ALL SRT-6, SLK32 and C32 engines with ALL SuperCharger Pulleys.

Cheers
Chris

UPDATE 11-18-2014
A Big Thank You to everyone who participated (on the list and otherwise). Those on the list helped to make this happen and were rewarded with a special deal. That deal has ended, but there are still some scatter-shields left that (like ALL the rest that have shipped) come with the newer, low-profile hardware and will be available for $95 plus shipping.

Thanks again to everyone who participated!

Chris
