Do not confuse DRL's ( Daytime Running Lights ) with automatic headlights.
DRL's are a function of the headlight switch for Canada, while automatic headlights would require a sensor and associated wiring, along with an 'automatic' position for the light switch.
I have automatic headlights on my Chrysler Concorde, it has a sensor front center above the dashboard.

I could be done, however it would not be a trivial project.
