Thanks for the kind words and advice. I don't even own a CF yet and this forum is a welcoming place to be new! I would like to find a private sale with a known history but they are fewer right now than the dealerships.

While I have always done a hands on prior to purchase I have driven cars home to Tennessee from Florida, Kentucky, Alabama, DC, Ohio, Indiana, Chicago, New Hampshire and I am sure a bunch of places forgotten. I have also wasted expensive trips to PN (more than 11 hours each way by bus with no sleep - still get upset about that liar), SC, Chicago (I got cocky), CT and NC.
Drive a couple to know what you want, stack up your bucks and move quickly when you find the right one. I suggest only you strongly give some extra worth to documented history. A couple of extra dollars on a car that has been lovingly cared for is often the least expensive, most joyful way to go over the long run.
I congratulate you again on taking the time to do the job right. This prep time will be a fun positive or at least a good investment. I spent eight frustrating months months hunting for the replacement for the last car I sold (with a feeler up only three hours).
