After you get a replacement light , this is how you do a remove and install.
1. Use the spoiler override button on the dash to raise spoiler.
2. Open trunk lid and remove plastic lid cover (held on by plastic Pop Rivets).
3. If you now look thru and behind the spoiler motor, you will see 5 small screws that hold the light assembly in place as well as 3 plastic locator pins. Remove the 5 screws. Lower truck lid. Slowly remove light assembly. Unplug electrical wire connector. Thats it!
OMG, I am so glad I found this info. I did not know I can exchange the LED from the trunk.
It sounded weird that I could not replace the LED. But I was told that it is glued to the trunk
