Default Rear Brake LED

New member, been driving 2005 Black Roadster for three years...love the car and have really enjoyed the tech stuff on the site. Need some help, the rear high brake light - part of the car and not a bulb - is dead. Any suggestions before I try the stealership! Is there a relay I can pull or check? Has this happened to anyone else.... Any suggestions would be appreciated. Located on LI in NY. Thanks.

I can't find it on the on-line catalogue; can you post the link? Thanks a lot.

Brown's Chrysler in Patchogue, 483 rt. 112, installed the rear brake light bar (covered under extended warrantee). It appears on the invoice as part # 5104955-AC, Lamp Cent 8014001. Good luck.

I found this in the forum:

After you get a replacement light , this is how you do a remove and install.

1. Use the spoiler override button on the dash to raise spoiler.
2. Open trunk lid and remove plastic lid cover (held on by plastic Pop Rivets).
3. If you now look thru and behind the spoiler motor, you will see 5 small screws that hold the light assembly in place as well as 3 plastic locator pins. Remove the 5 screws. Lower truck lid. Slowly remove light assembly. Unplug electrical wire connector. Thats it!

Thanks Bill but I knew this; in fact my problem now is to find the spare part at a reasonable price. Thanks anyway

OMG, I am so glad I found this info. I did not know I can exchange the LED from the trunk. It sounded weird that I could not replace the LED. But I was told that it is glued to the trunk
