Now - the check engine light is back on (just checked all fluids and replaced oil - ran like a dream yesterday). Now the car is acting like it's not getting gas, shimmy's when idling at stop lights. I hope to make it home this afternoon

When the light comes on, the FIRST thing to do is to read the code that set the light. There are a myriad of devices from $20 to $150 you can buy to do this with. Or, go to Autozone or AdvanceAuto and I think you will find they will read the codes for free.
Then, come back here, give us the code and we can go from there.
I have one of these plugged in at all times.

Biut I've spent very LITTLE to get it to go out.
