Now that you are even more confused. I can definitely tell you two things . . . Back at that time I determined that a Pierburg pump part number 7.00228.51 and a Pierburg pump part number #7.28337.00 are both correct for a Mercedes SL55. I can also tell you that the pump Rob at Needswing supplies is a TI Automotive pump with part number A 000 478 21 01 . . . I know because I bought one from Rob and it was still unopened in the box he sent to me . . . I just opened it up to check it out.
I just opened my genuine OEM Mercedes parts box from a Mercedes parts provider with the part #A 001 470 65 94 on the top of the box, but the pump inside the box was a TI Automotive #A 000 478 21 01 as was mentioned above. I thought I was going to be getting a Pierburg. So; If Rob sells this TI Automotive pump, and it has the OEM Mercedes symbol on it (which it does), we can assume it is the real deal.................. Right? Did Pierburg(Germany)move, and change its name to TI Automotive(Poland), or did Mercedes change to TI Automotive(Poland) for the supply of these newer pumps?
