I just made the switch in the adapter cable I built using the Scoshe adapter and the plug that came with the radio. Did make a bit more bulk behind the radio but did not have to cut up the factory harness. If I wanted to replace the factory radiooit is just plug and play.
The instructions above say the switch is in the Scoshe adapter as you say.
