Default Re: The cost for second Key

Not exactly, pushing the buttons reauthorizes the lock/unlock portion of the fob. BUT it has to be programmed for the car originally. The transponder also has to be programmed for the car. So there are two things that have to be factory programmed. The transponder and the board for the lock/unlock. You cant just get a working board from another car for the lock/unlock and push the buttons and have the car recognize new board. I was going to buy a couple of used fobs just for the lock/unlock board and pull the transponder from the original and tape inside the steering column so it would "read" the transponder and I could have as many working keys with working buttons but you cant program the used boards for your car. It's one of those pay us because you have to things.

I am a locksmith and even the best clone tool wont work on XF's. I can cut as many keys as you want on a Mercedes HU64P blank and tape a working transponder inside the column and it will work fine but no fob buttons.
