Default Re: Drive shaft flexible disc

So I am looking for some clarity too on this subject.

I have replaced/restored/upgraded many parts of my xfire and I come to these and I want to be certain I am only replacing parts I need to to keep the car running as designed or better.

The flex disks on my car are old and have some discoloration. Very small cracks but nothing that looks to limit the integrity of these parts. New ones are cheap enough, are they easy to do under a jack at the house? Or should we use a lift and shop?

Also, the drive train bearing, is this on both manual and automatic? Does it become problematic over time more on one than the other?

What are some symptoms of these parts failing?

Thanks in advance.
