Drive shaft flexible disc
Re: Drive shaft flexible disc
Turns out the part I ordered from the 2004 Service Catalog is wrong - 05127495AA < this part is for the DGU N/A 5-speed Automatic transmission.
My mechanic pulled my original apart and said they are different in diameter...crap!!!
The N/A DED 6-speed manual transmission is a different part (which is what car I have) and for the life of me cannot work out why the service manual does NOT list the damn part!
I need to go source this part locally TODAY, can anyone please help me locate a part number (can be mercedes or other brand, does not have to be chrysler OEM) for a 2004 N/A manual transmission please!

I suspect your mechanic is wrong, what do you mean by different diameter? If the screws line up OK it should be fine. The outside diameter could be different, these parts have been made for years and maybe they are just made bigger and stronger now.
Re: Drive shaft flexible disc
Wow, confusing info to say the least. So, I am gathering from reading the post, the SRT and the limited flexdiscs are not interchangeable, Rock auto doesn't carry both discs, Someone got the Bilstein 2104101215 to work, but on what, an SRt or a limited? Maybe I will skip replacing this part until I know that it is bad for now since there is so much conflicting information on which one to buy.

Have you guys ever noticed (or is it just me?) that when you click on a link to Needswings(like Max's provided link), it brings you to their homepage, but if you go back and click the provided link a second time, it brings you to the desired portion. Like the Drivetrain for this example.
Re: Drive shaft flexible disc
So I am looking for some clarity too on this subject.
I have replaced/restored/upgraded many parts of my xfire and I come to these and I want to be certain I am only replacing parts I need to to keep the car running as designed or better.
The flex disks on my car are old and have some discoloration. Very small cracks but nothing that looks to limit the integrity of these parts. New ones are cheap enough, are they easy to do under a jack at the house? Or should we use a lift and shop?
Also, the drive train bearing, is this on both manual and automatic? Does it become problematic over time more on one than the other?
What are some symptoms of these parts failing?
Thanks in advance.
