Thanks for your reply. I found that by removing the caps, the spread of light from fog lights is broader/wider especially noticeable on country roads. I live in the city so it's really difficult to see any difference in the city. No one is flashing me. I have the original bulbs that came with the fog lights, they seem fine thus far.
