I autocrossed on the daily driver tires a couple of times without significant wear. However, they didn't stick like the BFG Rivals, and the car pushed a lot, which doesn't happen with the Rivals. Wear depends on how hard you push it, surface that you're running on, and alignment settings. I'd give it a try and see what happens. A few runs shouldn't have that much of an effect.
