I guess it could be "scary" to some. Based on my size, how I grip the steering wheel, the telescopic position of the wheel, and the left turns I've safely made in the last few hundred miles, I have not yet encountered any problems. What could be scary though, in IMHO, is where the holder would end up if the side airbag were deployed. LOL
