Default Re: start button

The ONLY person who should attempt such a modification would be one who can troubleshoot electronics to the component level. If you do this mod, and the car ever presents a "no crank" or "No start" condition, you will have enough trouble getting it fixed without this mod - adding this complexity will mean that you will have virtually no where to go to get it fixed.

Again, if you feel confident in being able to troubleshoot any problems with the installation or with it later on, go ahead.

I had a young guy come by the house some 2-3 years ago with a Crossfire he had bought that had a keyless "start button" mod done to it. The wiring job done by the installer scared me. I resoldered his RCM for him and told him that I'd remove the mod and put the car back to normal for $200. I'm probably fortunate that he declined my offer. So many electrical mods are done SO poorly buy these "professional installers"....
