I wish I was home to try this, but what would happen if the EGR was stuck open?

I know a stuck CLOSED EGR makes the car peppy, less throttle delay - but you get a CEL code. Seems like the stuck OPEN EGR would give you a code as well - but again, IF it was stuck OPEN, what would it act like? I was thinkiing I could yank the electrical connector off mine and jumper the valve to battery - holding it open; then I could see how the car would act.
