Default Re: Vented Carbon Fiber Hood Design Status

You all may want to red through the old threads and check out some details. I know shipping on my hood was nearly $400 plus the fact that a good percentage of them were damaged in shipping. I am not trying to rain on the parade, but the hood also will require readjusting your fenders, adding some pins, if you plan on going over about 70.

I had the hood on and took the car to the Dragon and it seemed like it was going to fly off the car, shaking around and vibrating madly at speed. Once I added pins, it was no problem, but drilling through my brand new CF hood was a very nerve wracking job. By the time I was done with everything, including putting a decent spay of clear on the hood because it was so thin, I was nearly $2k into it. Don't get me wrong, it looks great, but people thinking this is going to get done in the $900 range I think are probably pretty far off. Just my $0.02
