My 08 was born in Sept of 2007, and currently under 26K. It was doused in Mobil-1 oil when the funnel kinked sideways and a large amount of oil spilled into the alternator (a few years ago). After a few days waiting for Mobil to answer an email, a flush of water with dish soap (and a copious rinse), it 'smelled' a little but still produced optimally. So, although young (in revolutions/years) but was well doused in synthetic oil and cleaned with inexpensive dish detergent/water, with a total rinse of water, and it hasn't given me any problem at all.
