I know what you mean. I was horrified when I went to replace the cabin air filter after buying my XF in April to find it was the OEM filter with a 2003 date code.

Fortunately though engine air filters looked new. Although they were of the cheap Fram variety.

There was a Mobil 1 window sticker for the oil milage so that at least was an encouraging sign.
