Maybe if you know someone at the dealer and they are willing to risk losing their job they can give you the contact info for the original owner if they even had it since it was not at the dealer before i brought it in myself, I do not know anyone willing to do that. or if you know someone at the insurance company willing to do the same. I already stated what my suspicions were about the vehicle as well as what i just wrote about getting info, we seem to be going in circles here, but i guess that keeps the thread alive. if there were any other signs of anything i would have found it, i do my research and was very comfortable buying this car to start with. I know its harder without seeing the vehicle in person, but anyone interested in it is welcome to look at it in person first.
This vehicle has a rebuilt title, not salvage title for those that continue to refer to it as such, big difference. Salvage title cars cannot be driven. Rebuilt titles can be insured, driven, registered, etc.
Any member here in Chicagoland? willing to come by and review the car?
For those of you that are curious what I paid for the vehicle, I paid very, very, very close to what i am asking at this point, It's almost a break even at this point, and because of the hard time I am getting here and the bs comments on speculation, like oh there must be something wrong with it because its rebuilt, from people that know nothing about the vehicle and have not seen it in person, I am really tempted to keep it, its a beautiful car that i will never be able to replace if i sell it, so it's ok. I'm a bit dissapointed in some of the members here, you don't make derogetory statements about vehicles you don't know or haven't seen, any car i have ever sold is in outstanding condition. I've listed a few rebuilt title slk32s on here with very happy buyers, I never thought i'd get so much crap over something a lot of people don't even have first hand experience with.

Regardless whether or not you understand the suspicions people feel about your car, you can not argue the 'grey areas' associated with the car and its value as you see it. With all that said your assertion that you are very near breaking even with what you paid for it vs what you are asking for it, and are 'very very close' to keeping it, many would suggest you keep it. You just cannot tell what the mileage is because the (so far) documented record clearly demonstrates mileage as 'Not actual mileage title issued'. I know I am not the only one who wonders why the mileage carryover never made it to the records. Just one of a litany of questionable
GREY AREAS with this car. Others have shown records that you left out or failed to mention, just another 'grey area' that adds up. With all the cars you have sold before, and the fact this car has been discussed this long (with more and more information coming out considered detrimental to its value), it is why I suggest you keep it. Honestly, I (and it seems many others) believe it is not worth what you are asking, by a long shot. But with that said, what do I know? Eventually someone (who wants it more considering its fair market value) will come along with cash, as I do not believe any reputable loan organization will back anyone up for a secured loan using the car. Good luck with your decision either way.
