Default Re: What did you do to your Crossfire today?

Bought the car not long ago and upgraded the stereo with an Alpine CDE-HD149BT single DIN Bluetooth head unit https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CKYH9Q2 (yes, it's not silver, but no one's making much in silver these days) and SiriusXM SXV300v1 Connect Vehicle Tuner Kit https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NJTO4CY.

Today, after much debate on location, I installed a 3.5mm & USB extension in the glovebox (where it would be easier for me to get to).

And also a dual USB charging socket in the console.

The Charging socket went into the knock-out labeled 10S in the sloping section at the front of of the console floor.

The hole is a bit oblong, but the face of the socket covers it nicely.

I chose this location because it seemed most accessible from the drivers position and least in the way of other items that might wind up in the console, also there is no interference with other items (like the parking brake). If I were to do it again, I'd move it over one space. I wired it into the harness at the cigarette lighter socket, where a P/O had previously connected a GPS power adapter. I recommend using 90 degree flag terminals for clearance with the drive line hump.

For the 3.5mm & USB extension space was tighter, I wound up opening up a preexisting (factory?) hole, using a Dremel tool with a drum sander. The hole wound up being a bit odd as the new larger hole does not fully overlay the original smaller hole, but it's not in a very visible location. The other spots I'd thought to mount it wound up with clearance issues.

Does anyone know where the low gloss interior coating can be sourced?
